Origin
Azoychka is a Russian yellow slicer bred by hobby gardener Valentina Petrovna Kruglova; the original name is Azochka, and it circulated in the Soviet Union as Zolotoy Borago from at least the 1980s. It has a pronounced citrus note that sets it apart from the usual mild, low-acid yellows In the early 2000s several vendors sold a potato-leaf Azoychka that was an incorrect type; the true variety is regular-leaf.
