Origin

Celebrity won an All-America Selections award in 1984 and has stayed in production ever since on the strength of one thing: it is very hard to fail with. The disease resistance package is unusually broad, the plant stops at a manageable size, and the fruit is consistent rather than remarkable. It is the variety most often recommended to someone growing tomatoes for the first time.
