Origin
Green Giant is a large green-when-ripe beefsteak with dense flesh and the first known potato-leaf green variety. Reinhard Kraft of Neukirchen, Germany selected it as an unexpected potato-leaf seedling in a regular-leaf green variety and shared seed with Craig LeHoullier in 2004; early seed gave a mix of potato-leaf and regular-leaf plants, so a regular-leaf plant under this name is an off-type. It is grown mainly by collectors of the green group.
