Origin
Plum Regal is the F1 hybrid of NC 30P and NC 25P, developed by Dr. Randy Gardner at North Carolina State University's Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center and distributed by Bejo Seeds. It combines resistance to late blight, early blight, Verticillium wilt, Fusarium wilt races 1 and 2, and Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus, which is unusual in a paste tomato and matters most in humid regions where a sauce crop is routinely lost to foliage disease.
